"Element K's e-Learning brings a new dimension to our traditional instructor-led classes. It's exciting to watch our students, faculty and staff respond so enthusiastically to the ability to learn anytime - anywhere. Professors don't usually have the time to teach software application programs like Excel or Photoshop and may even want to expand their own knowledge of an application," said Pattie Orr, Director of User Services at member institution Wellesley College. "Element K's e-Learning solution makes it possible for our students, faculty and staff to learn all the computing and IT skills they want to learn at their own pace, whenever and wherever they want. "We needed to make training as interactive as possible for our dealers.  e-Learning is not unique in this industry, so ours had to provide a memorable and worthwhile experience – to differentiate CTNA from other tire manufacturers," said Lena McCord, Manager of e-Marketing with CTNA.  "Our dealers know a lot about tires, so the priority was to increase sales by giving them training that was current on a product level and also provide selling scenario examples based on a potential customers needs and preferences, to aid in making a sale."

ncstateNC State University Computer Training Unit Case Study

The Computer Training Unit (CTU) is part of the Division of Continuing Studies at North Carolina State University. CTU had used Element K print courseware for nearly nine years, so when it came time to select an e-Learning partner, there was a clear leader. "Since we were already satisfied with Element K, it was a logical choice to go with its e-Learning solution," said Betty Gardner, Manager of the CTU. "Our students enjoyed the ILT courseware's modular design as well as the content, so we were pleased to see that the quality and consistency carried through to the online courses. That way, whether students choose traditional instructor-led courses here at the CTU or they use training online, the information is the same."

Having a long history with Element K, Simon outlined the new training goals and immediately set to work with their learning partner.  The orientation needed to be more than a training tool: It had to be a vehicle for team unification spanning different organizations and job roles, and serve as a resource that people could refer to when necessary.  Simon also made it a priority to fill the course with pictures and references from a large number of its properties, adding a strong personal element to which all workers could relate.
