Element K Announces e-Learning Program to Help Displaced Workers Weather Difficult Economy

Element K offers complimentary access to e-Learning

Rochester, NY, December 4, 2008: Element K®, a leading provider of learning solutions, services, and training content, is offering its clients complimentary access to business skills, information technology, desktop productivity, web design, and personal effectiveness e-Learning for employees who are displaced by current economic conditions.  Enterprise customers subscribing to e-Learning or blended learning libraries, whether existing or new to Element K, will be able to provide more than 300 of Element K's most relevant courses to their displaced workers for six months upon request at no additional cost.

"Companies often assist displaced workers with services to help them write their resume, prepare for interviews, and identify new employment opportunities. Our e-Learning courses will take this a step further. Displaced workers can build new skills and credentials online at their convenience to improve their value to prospective employers," said Dan Heffernan, VP Learning Products. "Element K business skills courses include simulations that will test their knowledge and skills, and our technical courses include assessments, references, labs and practice tests to prepare learners for certification exams and real world application."

In addition to business skills and information technology courses, Element K leads the industry with its expansive e-Learning library of web programming, creative design and desktop productivity courses. Learners access on-demand e-Learning courses for both PC and Macintosh on topics ranging from Photoshop and Illustrator to Cold Fusion and all of the most common desktop applications for spreadsheets, word processing, databases and presentations."As companies struggle to navigate through the turbulence of our economic crisis, they often look to their learning and human resources organizations to offer programs consistent with their values that help maintain a positive work environment," said Heffernan.  "We are proud to offer HR and learning leaders this innovative resource."
