| | Discrete Manufacturing Industry Profile - Discrete Manufacturing includes makers of consumer electronics, computers and accessories, appliances, and other household items, as well as "big ticket" consumer and commercial goods like cars and airplanes. Discrete Manufacturing companies make physical products that go directly to businesses and consumers, and assemblies that are used by other manufacturers. 1. Centralized Compliance Training – A remotely hosted training site to deliver and track all federally mandated safety training (OSHA), as well as state-specific compliance training for all U.S. manufacturing across more than a dozen plants. The site is in a content server configuration and is integrated with a locally hosted LMS. Using this configuration, Element K and its partners customize the training for each plant (including state-specific compliance courses based on plant location), and continuously update the training so that it always reflects current regulations. Courses are remotely served by the Element K Learning Platform – KnowledgeHubTM, and data reports are generated from the local LMS. The combined platform solution informs employees about the training they need, and indicates when training must be repeated according to specific mandates. Using the solution, the client consolidates all compliance related training to a single system capable of customizing training by job role and location, delivering courses through a single portal, tracking and reporting results, and triggering new training events to meet federal and state regulations. This represents significant cost savings and risk mitigation over a decentralized training approach. 2. Quality Program Deployment – An organization-wide quality initiative with company mandated training for all managerial, technical, and operational employees, and a quality awareness component for sales and marketing. Content includes Catalog e-Learning – black belt and green belt courses, plus custom courses with company-specific examples. Executive and engineer training is delivered in a blended learning fashion with e-Learning as pre-work to a series of week-long, black belt facilitated sessions. Operations training is mainly delivered on-line and covers techniques to identify the root-cause of problems, and to work in teams to prioritize solutions. Training is reinforced in group meetings and through the availability of mentors. Sales and marketing are reached through a series of web-based events. Using the solution, the client provides the broadest coverage for an important initiative – touching everyone in the organization with a level of training and awareness deemed appropriate by the program sponsors. ROI is considered to be significant as manufacturing defects drop over time. Note: items in bold represent Element K products, services, or technology
